Stonewall Kitchen Hot Chocolate & Marshmallows
We think every day is a good day for hot chocolate. Made with a hint of sea salt to bring out all the flavor of the chocolate, we’ve even added tiny marshmallows for fun. Originally, the Mayans drank beverages made from the seeds of the cacao plant thinking they had medicinal powers. Newcomers to the Western World did not find the bitter cacao drink palatable, but when they took it back to Spain and added sugar cinnamon and even a little black pepper, it soon became in the palace. Historically, hot chocolate has been the drink of royals, aristocrats and the wealthy. Thank goodness that has changed! To make everyday hot cocoa extra special, try adding a dollop of whipped cream and a drizzle of one of our decadent chocolate dessert sauces. For a sophisticated twist, try layering in a little dark roast coffee or even a shot of your favorite liqueur.
